SceneSetter FAQs

What are SceneSetters made of?

SceneSetters are available in four premium materials to suit different shooting styles and setups:

  • Rigid Vinyl (1/8”) – Durable, lightweight, and smooth—perfect for flat lays and easy storage

  • Max Metal ACM (1/8”) – A sleek aluminum composite for ultra-stable, professional-grade backdrops

  • 510gsm Flex Vinyl – Flexible, lightweight, and rollable with a matte, glare-free finish

  • 18oz Canvas Cloth – A textured fabric backdrop that folds easily and delivers a rich, natural look

Each option is non-reflective and crafted to photograph beautifully in any lighting.

How do I choose the right size?

It depends on what you’re photographing!

 • 15”x15” and 23”x23” – Great for smaller flat lays, product photography, food styling, or content creation with minimal props

 • 30”x40” and 42”x42” – Ideal for larger flat lays, layered setups, newborns, or wide-angle shots with more styling elements

 • Canvas Cloth & Flex Vinyl (up to 60”x120”) – Perfect for full tablescapes, portraits, or sweeping lifestyle scenes that need serious space

If you’re unsure, start with a medium size like 30”x40”. It gives you room to style while still being easy to handle.

Are they waterproof or stain-resistant?

They’re easy to wipe clean and highly resistant to spills, stains, and smudges, perfect for messy shoots like food, florals, or crafts.  This applies to all of our products except the canvas cloth.

How should I store my SceneSetters?

Rigid materials like vinyl and HD Metal can be stored flat or vertically. Flex vinyl and canvas cloth can be rolled or folded. Avoid creasing to keep them photo-ready.

Can I use SceneSetters as floor drops?

Yes! Rigid vinyl and HD metal are sturdy enough to be used under light props or products. Just avoid heavy foot traffic to preserve the finish.
